Hundreds turn out for Pagan Festival (Photos)

Despite facing competition from Music, Beer and Oyster Festivals, hundreds of people still arrived at the Westgate Hall in Canterbury for the Magical Goddess Festival at the weekend.

On the Friday night fairies of all ages enjoyed a Faery Ball, dancing to the music of the band Serpentyne and Inkkubus Sukkubus, and learning 14th century country dances during a medieval dance workshop.

Saturday morning saw a the Goddess parade wend its way through the streets of Canterbury.

Shoppers watched as giants, fairies, belly dancers, Morris men and Pagan drummers made their way to the Longmarket, where they were then entertained by Pagan dancing and music, before the parade made its way back to the Westgate Hall.

During the rest of the weekend visitors to the hall could browse the items on offer at the Faery market, watch performances by belly dancers, bands and drummers, have their fortunes told by Tarot readers, or attend talks and workshops about Paganism.
