Questions from members of the public

There are three questions from the members of the public

1. Terry Scott....Will the Parish Council approach Shepway District Council re the litter in the Village?

Chairman replied that we would do this.

2.... Michael Stephenson. Why is there going to be a barrier placed at the entrance of the Village Hall car park?

Chairman replied that this was to stop the bigger vehicles from parking in there and turning up the surface. Also it will be a prevention to stop it becoming a caravan site.

3....John Punnet. When is the car park going to be finished? Why are the lights not working?

Chairman replied that the workmen had not turned up on the 30th January. We cancelled the work on the 6th February due to a large event at the Village Hall and we hoped that the work will be finished on Satuday13th February.

The minutes were submitted and subject to an amendment to minute 805, which was seconded by Councillor D Callahan were approved.

809. Appointment of assistant to the Clerk

Recommendation : To delegate authority to the Clerk , Chairman and Vice Chairman to appoint assistant to the Clerk.

810. Project Update .

Due to absence of Clerk, the Project Update 12 is attached.

811. Planning Matters.

Due to absence of Clerk Planning Matters from Monday 1st February planning meeting will be announced at the March Hawkinge Parish Council meeting.

The Chairman adjourned meeting to allow members of the public to speak on the proposed planning of Food Store by Edinburgh Estates on land rear of Community Centre.

Concerns raised were .Flooding, Noise , Deliveries, Parking, Reversing Vehicles .Is there the need . Heron Forstal Avenue is not wide enough for heavy goods vehicles, Roundabouts in Heron Forstal Avenue.

The Chairman asked if anyone wanted to speak in support of the application.

No one came forward. The Chairman re convened The Hawkinge Parish Council meeting

Proposed to refuse planning permission on the grounds of health & safety, inadequate parking, noise QL1, QL2

And that some statements in the document are untrue and misleading. A copy of the full grounds of refusal is attached.
