Work to install new road signs and to paint road markings is set to cause disruption for drivers around the Port of Dover.

Improvements will be made at five roundabouts on short sections the A20 from 1 March, including 'keep clear' markings painted at three of them.

The roundabouts and some lanes will close between 9.30am and 3.30pm on weekdays and overnight between 8pm and 6am on certain days.

John Burns, Highways Agency route performance manager for Kent, says the new signs will direct drivers to the Eastern Docks and the Hoverport and Freight Clearance terminals.

He adds: "This work is being carried out as a safety measure to improve lane discipline and help road users easily locate Dover's major facilities."
