Police collecting information to tackle issues that matter most to local people

Officers from Shepway's neighbourhood policing teams are using wireless handheld technology to gather information, on the street, of issues that matter most to residents.

Police Officers and PCSOs will be visiting areas where many people gather, including supermarkets and shopping centres, to ask local people if they have any issues in their area that they want Kent Police and Shepway District Council to deal with.

The responses given by the public will be fed into a Blackberry wireless handheld device and analysed so that a set of priorities can be established for each area within Shepway.

It follows on from the PACT process (Partners and Community Together) and will allow Kent Police, Shepway Council and other partners to tackle the issues that matter most to local people.

If anyone is unable to attend on these dates they can still take part by contacting their neighbourhood officer.
