A herd of wild horses has been released into the South Foreland Valley nature reserve at St Margaret's Bay, near Dover.

The Wildwood Trust, White Cliffs Countryside Project, and St Margaret's Parish Council have joined forces to help improve biodiversity in the area.

It is reported that many plants and insects growing on the site could be under threat unless it is grazed by animals.

by Stan
on Feb 24, 2010

Sadly I hear one of the wild horses got itself stuck in mud and has died after the horse was not spotted for some time and the rescuers arrived too late to save it
