Folkestone and Dover grinds to a halt after snowfalls and blizzards strike

The heaviest snowfall of the winter and and blizzard conditions have brought travel disruption to east Kent.
 


Most schools in the hardest hit, Folkestone and Dover areas have been closed.

Kent Police have advised motorists to travel only if necessary.

The M20 motorway is badly hit and the A20 between the Round Hill Tunnel and Dover was at a virtual standstill.

The A259, Radnor Park Road is blocked both ways due to broken down supermarket lorry between Park Farm Road and A2034 Cheriton Road , in Folkestone

Freight traffic on Eurotunnel is currently being delayed by over 3 hours.

There were also reported delays of up to an hour on rail services between Ramsgate and Dover Priory, and between Ramsgate and Ashford International.
