Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens play areas move forward

Proposals for a children's play area at Kearsney Abbey are taking a further step forward.

A follow-up meeting on design options for a creative and innovative play area for Kearsney Abbey, and improvements in Russell Gardens, is being held at the Kearsney Abbey play area from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Monday, January 11.

Design proposals have been developed following a range of excellent ideas from the community, including feedback from local school children and a range of local residents, from a consultation in September.

In the event of rain, the follow-up consultation will be held at River Primary School from 4pm-5.30pm. There will be a further meeting with River Primary School earlier that day.

Consultation is being carried out by the Kent Children’s Fund Network on behalf of Dover District Council.

The new facilities for Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens are due to be completed by the Easter holidays 2010.

This latest work follows the launch of innovative new play areas at Pencester Gardens and Marke Wood, and the anticipated completion of a new play area at Connaught Park by early 2010.
