The funeral cortege carrying the body of Rifleman Peter Aldridge from Folkestone and Lance Corporal Daniel Cooper from Hereford who were killed in Afghanistan has passed through the town of Wootton Bassett.

Thousands of people met the hearses in silence while a single bell tolled as they passed by.

Mourners threw bouquets of flowers and the sound of crying could be heard from the crowd.

Peter's parents Caroline and Andrew, his brother Matthew, 14, and girlfriend Jemima Dickenson comforted each other as they lay flowers on his hearse.
