Around 60 firefighters are tackling a blaze at a three storey furniture workshop in North Lyminge Lane.

Ten appliances, a height vehicle and a number of support units are at the scene of the major blaze in Lyminge, near Folkestone.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s control room was first alerted at 12.46pm to reports that the roof was alight.

Kent Police have implemented some road closures and there is no through traffic in the village from either Etchinghill or Elham. Motorists are being asked to stay away from the area.

As at 10.00pm (27 January) six pumps remain at the scene of today's large blaze at a three story furniture workshop in North Lyminge Lane near Folkestone.

After bringing the fire under control, crews are extinguishing remaining hotspots. At the height of the incident ten pumps, a height vehicle and several support units were sent to tackle the blaze which affected the building's roof, second and third floors.
