Calling for nominations for Demelza Hospice Care community awards (Photo)

Demelza Hospice Care for Children is holding its first community awards evening to reward top fundraising activity across Kent, East Sussex and South East London.


The organisation which provides valuable hospice care for over 570 children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Kent, East Sussex and South East London is calling for nominations for any individuals or groups which have gone the extra mile to raise funds for Demelza in the community.

Nominations with a short description of why the person or organisation should be considered should be sent to the Fundraising Department at

Demelza House,

Rook Lane,

Bobbing,

Sittingbourne,

Kent, ME9 8DZ

by March 26.

The categories are:

*Young Fundraiser of the Year (under 18)

*School of the Year

*Junior Group of the Year

*Group of the Year

*Innovative Fundraising Idea

*Demelza Fundraiser of the Year East Sussex

*Demelza Fundraiser of the Year Kent

*Demelza Fundraiser of the Year South East London

*Event of the Year

*Longstanding Fundraiser


Finalists will be sent invites to the awards ceremony in April. The awards evening will take place on May 20 at the Hop Farm in Paddock Wood, Kent.

Area Fundraising Manager Vicki Pickering said: “We rely almost entirely on fundraising in the community to keep our services running, therefore we decided to recognise the people that help us do that. We have been lucky to have secured Kirkham Young Recruitment as a sponsor for the event, so this will be our way of saying thank you to our community for the hard work they put in for us”.
