Although I was not successful in 2009, I feel a sense of achievement having got back to "battling the channel tide, wind and waves".

Your publication was fantastic by informing your readers that there is a lot of active life after a major medical setback.

In a sense your publication hopefully helped make the experience an inspiration for others.

Now to the future I have already booked my pilot and escort boat for 2010.

More importantly my admiration for the people of the Folkestone and Hawkinge area continues to grow.

I intend to spend a great deal of time in Folkestone for many years to come.

As I have said many times, your hometown is one of the loveliest places on earth!
