Police investigate huge farm blaze near West Hougham

Police and fire officers are investigating a blaze which destroyed 10,000 bales of hay at a farm between Folkestone and Dover.

Fire crews raced to the scene after flames were reported coming from a barn at Court Farm in Hougham Court Lane, near West Hougham shortly after 11.00pm last night (1 September).

Around 30 firefighters fought the blaze and managed to prevent it spreading to other farm buildings.

Hougham Court Lane is expected to be closed until Thursday.
