The climb is in memory of her father Alan Horne, who died in June this year. He was cared for by the charity who helped to make him more comfortable with his fight against the illness.

The fundraising has already begun and Michelle thanks all those at the Hawkinge Fun Day who donated so generously to the fund and the Mayfly for their help and support.

Michelle has said she will be climbing the 5895m mountain not only for her father but for those who have lost someone.

She hopes to carry a list of loved ones with her to the peak.
