Marcus slaughtered to teach children what?

Have your say!

Dear Editor,

Re:-Anger over Shepway primary school slaughtering sheep

Ms Charman should be sacked and examined by a psychiatrist.

For goodness sake woman, children do gradually become aware as they get older that animals are killed for food - you don't need to shove it in their face.

If it's true that Marcus was as much a pet as a farm animal then frankly I think you must be sick in the head.

Eating meat or being vegetarian is a choice to be made by informed adults, and for children it is the choice of informed parents. It isn't your job to "educate" children in this way.

Like most teachers, I expect you believe you live in the real world - sadly, like many teachers you don't, you live in a fantasy world where somebody has unwisely invested you with too much power.

You should hang your head in shame.

Marcus

Compassion, kindness, fellow feeling and mercy can be shown by example by parents and teachers, towards both animals and fellow humans. It is these qualities which prevail and assist a child into sound adults.

Sheep are defenseless, docile, non-contentious creatures and innocently go to their end without challenge because they are "humble" and "meek" and no wonder Jesus so often referred to sheep and lambs in his illustrations, to exemplify the qualities humans should also cultivate and display towards one another and to animal.

Even King Solomon took time in his prosperity to remind us that "the righteous one is caring for the soul of his domestic animal, but the mercies of the wicked ones are cruel" Proverbs 12:10

The Marcus example teaches children traits associated with savagery towards the vulnerable.

Interestingly, looking at various media articles such as this, those generally responsible for authorising/supporting this type of action, also take on a physical appearance manifesting the disorderly conduct of their heart and state of mind.
