Have your say!

Dear Editor,

Re:-Anger over Shepway primary school slaughtering sheep

I have spent the day trying to find Marcus the sheep destined for slaughter on Monday.

If the school, or should I say the head teacher is so adamant that this is educating children then why the need to remove him and put him into underground cover.

Surely this is proof that she may have got it wrong.

Educate children by all means but tell them the whole story not half of it. Show them pictures of how Marcus will be killed, hung up, throat slit, drained of blood and insides pulled out.

Put that to 14 children and see if they still want him slaughtered. I doubt it.

Its not just veggies that are angry about this, in fact its across the board. People who care about children and animals.

We know that sheep are killed everyday for meat but they did not have names, not fed by hand, not cared for in the same way. Marcus had trusted these people and had no fear of humans but once again we as humans have let him down.

The arrogance of this woman too as she now says, she will turn pigs into sausages. Is she that desperate to be recognised?

She would have far more respect to do a turn around on this while she can.

If Marcus is not saved then I hope the person who wins the animal in a raffle realises that he/she is part of the murder of an innocent creature with no voice.

If I was a parent with a child at this school I would have to question her teachings and how far she is prepared to go.

This age group are still walked to school and I daresay helped to dress in the mornings yet have a choice as to whether an animal lives or dies.

Maybe they will get a vote on whether porn is shown in the school to educate them on that one yes or no... whats the difference really?

I rest my case strongly for the silent ones.

Marcus vs money
by Debbie Holmes
on Sep 12, 2009

The Headteacher who vindicates herself by talking about raising money from Marcus body to purchase further animals has lost the point completely. If this was about money and not her power kick she would gracefullay accept the generous offers on the table and take the money, spare the life of an innocent animal that has so far performed every trick required of him. this woman is running a circus and for some reason has an awful lot of deluded supporters. Meat comes on a plate, it doesn't sit up and beg.
