Vehicles heading from Folkestone town centre towards Sandgate are being diverted down Grimston Avenue and along Shorncliffe Road.

Vehicles heading from Sandgate towards Folkestone town centre are being diverted along Coolinge Lane.

Parents due to pick their children up from schools in Coolinge Lane are being asked not to block the road as buses will be using it as a diversion, and if possible to park in roads away from Coolinge Lane.

It follows a collision just before 11 am involving two vehicles at the top of Sandgate Hill (near Dixwell Road) in which a woman aged in her 80s had to be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are at the scene to examine the cause of the collision and the road will be closed for the next few hours.
