Fire destroyed a barn and 1500 bales of hay at a farm in Acrise on Thursday night.

Youngsters at a Pony Club camp held at the farm had tents pitched close by when the blaze at Ridge Farm, Ridge Row in the village broke out shortly after 1.00am.

The hay in the barn was winter feed for the cattle and horses at the farm.

Fire crews were at the scene damping down for most of Thursday (6 August).

The blaze is being treated as arson.

Folkestone police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 01303 289180 or if they wish to remain anonymous ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
