A Dover mother and son will once again be acting together in a short film for the international market.

Karol and Ben Steele from Buckland Avenue in Dover appeared in the 2008 Berlin Film Festival prize-winning short film Washed Up, which was shot on the beaches of Botany Bay.

This year they won't have so far to travel as they have both landed roles in the KETV-commissioned short film 'The Sea Shall Have Them', based on the short story by prize-winning novelist Anne Perry.

The film, which tells the story of Davey, a modern-day schoolboy magically transported to the reign of Elizabeth I, is to filmed in the Fred Martin studios in Barton Road and on location at Astor College and in Canterbury.

Ben plays the role of Harry, a quick-witted Tudor serving boy who befriends Davey; he will also be playing one of Davey's modern-day school friends.

Mum, Karol will be playing a minor role as one of the servants in the kitchen.

Busy Karol will be travelling to London the day after finishing filming in the KETV studios, to complete her part in the filming of a new show for Watch TV called 'Tarrant Lets the Kids Loose ...'.

This Karol's second big film project this year, as she was also cast as Nurse Stern in the Ian Dury Biopic, 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll', which is due to be released on 26 March next year.

The makers of 'The Sea Shall Have Them' are hoping that, as well as a nationwide release, the film will also be released onto the US movie market.
