Hawkinge Parish Council has announced that it has been awarded Quality Council Status by the National Association of Local Councils.

It has been achieved in a short period of time following the the Clerk in obtaining the Certificate in Local Council Administration in January this year.

A statement from the council said: "This demonstrates that the Council is working efficiently, able to deliver efficient services to local residents and opens the door for greater improvements."

David Callahan, Chairman of the Parish Council said “I am delighted we have been successful. This is a true reflection of the hard work the Council has put into making itself more efficient and engaging with the community."
