Romney Marsh wind turbines grind to a halt

A technical fault at the £60m wind farm at Little Cheyne Court, on Romney Marsh which was officially opened just a month ago has shut down at least seven of the 26 turbines on the site.

 

According to reports, the company which built the wind farm, RWE Npower Renewables said that a problem with the turbine's electrical transformers had caused the problem.

Replacement transformers are due to be delivered in mid-September.
