High speed trains will be arriving at Folkestone, Dover, Canterbury and Ramsgate next month.

Southeastern said the weekday-only service was a "preview" of high-speed suburban rail services that will begin on 13 December.

The initial "preview" services from Ashford to St Pancreas began in June.

The high-speed services using the Japanese-built Class 395 140mph Javelin trains are expected to cut the journey times from Folkestone Central and Folkestone West to around an hour, save 49 minutes on the Ramsgate to London journey and cut in half the Dover Priory to London time to a little more than one hour.

The "preview" services which will cost more are due to begin on 7 September 2009.
