Work on Ashford International is costing £2.4 million, with £1.2 million provided by the National Stations Improvement Programme (NSIP) and a further £1.2 million given by Ashford’s Future from central government growth area funding.

The work was officially started by Damian Green, MP for Ashford, and will be completed in time for the start of the full high speed services being introduced in December.

Improvements include an extension to the booking hall, a coffee shop, improved lighting, extra seats and refurbished toilet facilities.

Damian Green, MP for Ashford said, “Ashford passengers deserve the best facilities at the station to complement the country’s best train links. I am delighted that these works will be completed in time for the full launch of the high speed services in December."
