Two teenagers who wanted to improve their local park were rewarded on Monday (20 July) when the adventure play area at Brabner Park, Folkestone, was officially opened.

Fifteen year old Nadine Gallagher and Kirsty McGovern (14) from the Folkestone East Youth Council approached the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust for sponsorship and the project gathered strength with Shepway Council supporting it through a successful bid to the BIG Lottery Fund.

The equipment, which includes a zip wire, basket swing and climbing posts, is designed to get more children to play outdoors, develop self esteem and provide a chance for more adventurous play.
