The LD Lines ferry service from Dover to Dieppe is to be scrapped after operating for just 4 months.

The company have admitted it has not attracted enough traffic on the newly introduced route to make it commercially viable.

The service to Dieppe was introduced in February 2009.

It will cease running  today (29 June) although the Cote d’Albatre ship will continue to operate a service between Dover and Boulogne.

LD Lines will operate a total of six return crossings a day on the route  following the recent introduction of the Norman Arrow fast ferry.
