The 9th Annual Kent Refugee Action Network (KRAN) Dover Multicultural Festival was held  yesterday (20 June) in the Market Square.

It was officially opened by MP Gwyn Prosser followed by a parade through the town, with the theme of Noah's Ark.

Acts throughout the day included The Ghurka Dancers, Jambo Africa, Nigel Hobbins and the Backroom Boys, Musika, The Whitstable Samba Band, Daniel and Partner, The Canterbury College Dancers, and The Beech Grove Community Singers.

Local groups joining KRAN with stalls in the Market Square included Kent Pagans, The Samaritans, The British Red Cross, and Kent Libraries. Joining the festival fun was Dover actress Karol Steele, taking a break from filming a new television programme for Watch; she was on hand to hand out leaflets for the local groups taking part in the festival, during the parade through the town and throughout the day.
