At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Community Centre held on Friday (5 June), members heard that all debts apart from the bank overdraft have now been repaid.

The turnaround in it's fortunes has continued since the new board was appointed last year. Treasurer Colin Tearle told the well attended meeting that there has been a trading profit for the last five months.

The AGM appointed two new directors; Kent County and Shepway District Councillor, Susan Carey and Shepway District Councillor Stuart Peale.

HCC Chairman Tony Hutt singled out directors David Godfrey and Colin Tearle for praise, together with the staff who had worked extremely hard to help make the Centre so successful since the new board took over.
