Gurkhas to be granted Freedom of Folkestone at town centre ceremony

Gurkha soldiers based at Shorncliffe barracks are to be granted the freedom of the town at a special ceremony and parade this week.


The 2nd Battalion the Royal Gurkha Rifles are being awarded the honour Freedom of Folkestone on Thursday (18 June).

Gurkha rights supporter, actress, Joanna Lumley and other members of Gurkhas Justice Campaign will be taking part in the celebrations.
