Time to make your cash bids for community projects

News

Local community groups looking for help with projects can now apply for grants of up to £5,000.

The funding for local community groups in the Dover district comes from the Dover District Neighbourhood Forums who have been allocated the cash by Dover District Council and Kent County Council.

Local voluntary and community organisations can apply for grants for capital projects, which will need to show benefit to the community. Successful projects last year included new equipment, small building works, stage and security lighting, among others.

Kent County Council is administering this Small Community Capital Projects fund and application packs are available from KCC Community Liaison Managers Emma Carey or Anne Charman (Sandwich Area only), or can be downloaded from DDC’s website: www.dover.gov.uk/neighbourhoodforums/funding.asp

The application process is straightforward and advice and assistance is available from Kent County Council.

The closing date for applications is the 30 September 2009.

For more information about the Small Community Capital Projects fund, please contact: Emma Carey, KCC Community Liaison Manager on 01622 694599 or Anne Charman, KCC Community Liaison Manager (Sandwich Area only) on 01622 696389.
