With summer upon us the potential for alcohol misuse rises as the temperatures soar.

Dover District Community Safety Partnership has launched an alcohol awareness campaign.

As part of the campaign, they will be giving away 1,000 packs of playing cards, with each pack containing more than 52 alcohol awareness messages, helpful hints and contact details on where to get help and advice.

The playing cards will be handed out to residents and visitors at events across the district, including the Community Safety Day, which is returning to Pencester Gardens, Dover on Saturday 11 July.

The campaign is part of the partnership’s work to keep Dover District a safe place to live, work and visit.

Chair of the Dover District Community Safety Partnership, Nadeem Aziz said: “We are launching this campaign to make people think about their drinking, and to help improve quality of life throughout the district. We want everyone to have a good time, but above all to be safe and enjoy themselves without ruining their own, or other people’s enjoyment because of excess alcohol. We hope the playing cards will help get the message across and help everyone have a great deal of fun this summer.”
