Two brothers have paddled from Dover to Sangatte in kayaks, taking just under six hours to complete the crossing.

The pair set off on Saturday from Dover at 9.00am and arrived at Sangatte near Calais in France shortly before 3.00pm BST.

It is believed Christian Hosie, 13, is the the youngest person to have completed the crossing in a kayak.

He and his 19-year-old brother Wesley from Taunton in Somerset took on the challenge to raise money for the charity Children with Leukaemia.

Speaking to the BBC after his return to Dover, Christian said he didn't think it would be so long but was pleased the conditions were flat apart from swells from the ferries.
