Firefighters have tackled a major blaze which broke out in a row of three-storey terraced buildings near Margate at the weekend.

At its height 16 crews involving around 80 firefighters were called to the scene in Northdown Road, Cliftonville.

There were no reports of injuries.

It is believed four of the 14 buildings, consisting of shops with living accommodation, were severely damaged in the blaze which broke out on Saturday (16 May).

Several other adjoining properties suffered smoke damage.
