Time running out for west Folkestone residents over Controlled Parking proposals

People living in thirteen streets around Folkestone West Station have until Friday (22 May) to respond to letters and questionnaires sent by Shepway District Council about a proposed new parking scheme in their area.

A Controlled Parking Zone is being put forward by the council to help tackle parking difficulties caused by commuter traffic; a problem that is likely to get worse when the new high speed train services start using Folkestone West in December.

Parking restrictions will mean that only permit holders will be able to park in the streets during specific hours. Permits will be available for residents, their visitors, businesses, health and care workers and tradesmen. Disabled parking bays will remain.

Residents have until 22 May to make their views known.
