A ‘ruff’ guide to barking dogs

A ‘ruff’ guide to problems caused by noisy pooches will be coming to Dover next Tuesday (19 May)

The council’s environmental health team will be at the pedestrian precinct from 1pm to 4pm to explain how barking dogs can affect neighbours, as part of a joint initiative of Dover and Shepway District Councils to mark Noise Awareness Week.

Complaints about barking dogs contribute significantly to noise complaints made to the local authorities.

Canine behaviourist Pippa Ducat will be on hand with advice and help on how to keep dogs happy, and quiet.

There will also be an opportunity for dog owners to have their pets micro-chipped for just £10.99 by a local kennel, and Dog Wardens will be there to offer advice about other aspects of responsible dog ownership.
