Plans in full swing for more free play activities

The latest programme of kid's holiday activities which ran over the Easter holidays was attended by just 165 children.

Despite the low numbers who attended the scheme run by Shepway Council in Folkestone, Hythe, Hawkinge, Lympne, Lydd, Lyminge, Newington, New Romney, Newchurch and Stelling Minnis, the organisers are pressing ahead with plans for this year's summer holidays.

Since the Play Mobile Activity Programme programme which is funded by the Big Lottery started last July nearly 1,000 children have enjoyed a range of  free play activities in the school holidays.

Details of this year's activities and venues will be available on the council's website: www.shepway.gov.uk  in early July.

For more information please contact Youth Development Officer, Tamasin Jarrett on 01303 853277
