Pensioner's playground opens

A free outdoor gym which can be used by senior citizens and parents alike, has been opened in east Kent.

The equipment which includes sit-up benches, pull-up bars, chest and leg presses has been installed at the Cherry Orchard Playing Field, in Herne, near Herne Bay next to a children's play area.

The new facility has seven pieces of gym equipment aimed at working every part of the body, and is suitable for everyone over the age of 12.

It is hoped the adults will be encouraged to become healthier by exercising while they watch their children.

What do you think? Good or bad idea - would you be encouraged to work-out in the local park? Would it be popular in Hawkinge Folkestone or Dover?
