Local film extra, Karol Steele from Dover has spoken of her sadness over the tragic death of Natasha Richardson, who she worked with on the set of a hit film in Kent.

The Hollywood star died on Wednesday from a brain haemorrhage after a fall on a beginner's ski slope in Quebec, Canada.

Natasha was an English stage and screen actress and daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and director/producer Tony Richardson and the granddaughter of Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson

Karol, from Dover said: "I worked with her in 2007 on the teen romantic comedy, Wild Child at Cobham Hall in Kent, which became one of the summer hits of 2008.

"I found her to be friendly, approachable and fun-loving. During the times in between takes on the set she would sit in the crew tent enjoying a cup of coffee and a boxed meal exactly the same as the rest of us.

"I loved chatting to her, Shirley Henderson, Selina Cadell and Aidan Quinn on those warm days in August, and felt just as an important part of the film we were making as they were.

"She was also happy to pose for photographs and sign autographs for the teenagers on set, who knew and admired her for her work on the remake of The Parent Trap.

"All my love and deepest sympathies go to her husband, Liam Neeson, and their children in this difficult time."
