The fifth Hawkinge Community clear up will take place on Saturday 21 March starting at the Community Centre in Heron Forstal Avenue at 10am and finishing with a free buffet lunch at midday back in the Community Centre.

The last litter pick was in October 2008 when 30 bags of rubbish were collected, made up mainly of drinks containers and snack food wrappers.

Tanya Clark the KCC Community Warden thanked the Hawkinge Partnership for their continued support of the event and added, “it is really good to see members of the community helping to keep their village tidy and take pride in where they live”.

All ages and abilities are welcome to the join Tanya in the litter pick including groups and children (who must be accompanied by a responsible adult). All you need to bring is yourself as gloves, rubbish bags and litter pickers are supplied. Please dress suitably for the weather conditions.
