Bills rise by five percent for Dover Council tax payers

Average total bills for Band D properties in the district are going up by just 3%, but Dover District Council have increased their share by 4.94%.

The Council confirmed the Tax for the district at its meeting on Thursday (5 March).

The element of the Council Tax bill for Dover District Council is increasing by 4.94%, representing a rise of £7.30 per year for Band D properties.

For the year 2009/10, the average total bill for a Band D property in Dover District will rise to £1,425.53, an increase of £41.79.

The total bill includes the element of Council Tax for Kent County Council (£1,026.27), Dover District Council (£155.07), Kent Police Authority (£134.65), Kent Fire and Rescue Service (£66.06), and an average for Town and Parish Councils of £43.48.
