Folkestone Camera Club meeting - 26 January 2009

On Monday 26th January, Helen Taylor ARPS DPAGB BPE2* judged this 4th digital image competition of the season.


Helen is a very experienced photographer and she gave our members tips and advice on how we could improve our photography. Her results were (marks out of 20):-

Due to the increasing number of entries, the Monochrome section was previously judged with the Print Competition recently, by Dr. Peter Lewis, and his results were:-

Our next meeting will be on 2nd February which will give our lady members chance to show what they’re made of ! NOT JUST FOR BOYS We are proud of the strength of our female membership and tonight they entertain us with their digital image skills.

The following week (9th) DAAN EKSTEEN & ALAN MEEK two of our members will be showing NEPAL – WHERE EARTH MEETS THE SKY With so many Nepalese now living among us as citizens of Folkestone, this is an opportunity to view their homeland and understand something of their culture. This will be followed by Print Competition No. 4 on the 16th February.

In between these evenings, our monthly Practical and Audio Visual evenings will be held where members have an informal get-together discussing photography and practising with the studio lighting equipment, and learning how to do audio visual.

In addition, you may be interested to know that our Club will be holding an Audio Visual workshop on 28th February. Further information can be found on our website.

Our meetings are held at the St. Georges Church Hall, Audley Road, Folkestone (on the corner of Shorncliffe Road, opposite West Station) on Mondays at 7.45pm.
