Police raid Cannabis factories in Folkestone and Dover

Local police have seized more than 2,200 cannabis plants and closed down two cannabis factories in Folkestone and Dover.

A search warrant was carried out at an address in Coolinge Road, Folkestone on Friday (13 February) where 392 plants were seized.

A man was arrested and charged with being involved in the production of a controlled drug. He was remanded in custody and appeared before Magistrates on Saturday where he was remanded.

Meanwhile, more than 1700 cannabis plants were discovered at a flat in Folkestone Road, Dover, also on Friday.

This was a large and sophisticated cultivation set up and the electricity meter had been by-passed.

One man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with being involved in the production of a controlled drug, he is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates Court on Monday (16 February).
