Village gossip from strippers to sports with a daubing of graffiti and the will it or won't it close saga....

Why are people still going on about the Village Hall being closed?

A little bird tells me the now defunct Hawkinge Sports Council, which was originally trying to raise money to refurbish the Spitfire Leisuredrome for sports activities, is giving away the balance of its funds to a group set up to save the Village Hall.

So far as I can see, if this is actually true, they won't need a great deal of cash as the current Chairman of the Parish Council, David Callahan has categorically stated 'the hall is not for closing'.

Graffiti

I'm not too impressed with the speed, or rather lack off, shown by Shepway Council in removing this current spate of graffiti peppering the village.

Strippers in the Community Centre

Whatever next... lap dancing in the Village Hall... now there's a thought!

It looks like a new Palais des Artistes could be blossoming, with plush new stage curtains, acoustic cladding and a heating system which now works, the Hawkinge Community Centre is preparing for business.
