Discover Folkestone & Romney Marsh

A year ago we voiced the opinion that there were good reasons to believe that the Shepway corner of Kent was better positioned than most holiday and leisure destinations to weather the storms which were clearly ahead.

And so, happily, it has proved; 2009 turned out to be a 'very good' year for most hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, restaurants. attractions and other visitor-dependent businesses. Some claim it was the best for a long time.

That's the good news. Now for 2010.

Undoubtedly, the year poses big challenges, but we stick to our opinion that Shepway's unique assets and attractions are powerful advantages in the business of attracting visitors.

As the 'official' tourism information and marketing agency for Folkestone, Hythe and

Romney Marsh, DFH&RM is confidently and energetically engaged in a big programme of promotion activities in key UK and Continental markets. We believe it's reasonable to start the New Year with optimism.
