An adventurous octogenarian's feat has been published in the Guinness Book of Records after he became the oldest person to wing walk across the English Channel.

Eighty-nine-year-old Tom Lackey completed his challenge during the Bleriot Centenary Celebrations in Dover in July 2009.

Tom climbed onto the wing in Calais and landed on the playing fields at the Duke of York's Military School close to nearby Dover Castle.

This is Tom's second entry in the Records book for his daredevil flying stunts after being previously entered for being the oldest person to do a loop-the-loop on the wings of a plane.

The pensioner, who lives near Birmingham has 20 wing walks under his belt and is already bracing himself for next year’s adventure.

He told the Birmingham Post he is planning a two way wing walk to celebrate his 90th birthday and to celebrate D-day.

Tom’s adventures and the talks he gives about them have raised £1.25 million for charity.
