Giving Hythe an extra boost as the place for festive season shopping, High Street traders will stage this year's late-night event on Thursday, December 10.

Shops will be open from 6pm until 9pm with music from the Salvation Army band and Santa Claus will also be in town.

Chairman of Hythe Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, which is organising the event, Kevin Howell said : "By popular demand, we resumed weekday late-night Christmas shopping last year after several years of trying to tempt festive season shoppers on Sundays.

"It was a great success and we look forward to welcoming many more residents and visitors this year".
