Opening times and services for Shepway District Council over the Christmas and New Year period are as follows:-

Civic Centre:

The Civic Centre will close at 4pm on Thursday 24 December and re-open at 8.30am on Monday 4 January.

One Stop Services:

Hythe and New Romney

Tuesday 21 December to Wednesday 23 December: 8.45am-1pm and 2pm -4.30pm.
Thursday 24 December: 8.45am -4pm Tuesday 29 December to Friday 1 January: Closed
From Tuesday 5 January: Normal hours: 8.45am - 1pm and 2pm - 4.30pm

Lydd

Closed from 12noon on Thursday 17 December until Wednesday 6 January.

Hythe Swimming Pool

Saturday 19 December and Sunday 20 December: 9 am-5 pm
Monday 21 December to Friday 24 December: 9am-4pm
Christmas Day to New Year's Day (inclusive): closed.
Saturday 2 January and Sunday 3 January: 9 am-4 pm
Monday 4 January - school term programme starts.

Landfill waste and recycling collections

For those residents who would normally have their landfill waste collected on Friday (Christmas Day), this will now be collected on Monday 28 December.

There will be no recycling collection on Christmas Day. Please store your recycling for the next scheduled recycling day.

Please remember: Wrapping paper cannot be placed in your recycling bag.

Garden waste collections

The final day for garden waste collections will be 18 December 2009. They will begin again on 4 January 2010.

Bulky waste collections

The last bulky waste collection will be Wednesday 16 December. The service starts again on Wednesday 6 January 2010. The final day for the collection of fridges/freezers will be 23 December 2009. This will restart on the 4 January 2010.

Recycle your Christmas tree

Christmas trees will be collected from all residents between the 4 January and 15 January 2010. Please leave your tree out for collection on the scheduled garden waste collection day. If you are not part of the garden waste scheme and do not know the collection day please call Customer Services on 01303 858660.

Alternatively, you can deliver your tree to Wyevale Garden Centre, Jointon Road, Folkestone, anytime up until 17 January. All trees delivered here will be collected by the council and sent for composting.
