The body of a dog, reportedly stoned to death , was discovered this morning (15 December) on a beach near to Folkestone Harbour.

The Shepway Council dog warden together with a police officer were called to the arches at Sunny Sands beach at around 9.00am where they were confronted with the horrific scene.

They found what was described as a young Staffordshire-cross terrier which it is thought was killed deliberately.

Folkestone Police is appealing for owners or anyone with information to call 01303 289180.
