Dungeness won't be getting a new nuclear power station on environmental grounds.

In all ten new nuclear power stations are due to be on stream by the next decade.

But the 11th site, Dungeness, was turned down because of the "adverse effect" it could have on the ecosystem identified by Natural England, energy secretary, Ed Miliband said.

The announcement by the energy secretary outlined the UK government's plans to fast-track major energy infrastructure projects.
