The above winners photographs can be viewed on our website, www.folkestonecameraclub.co.uk along with further information about our club.

Last Monday two of our members gave interesting talks on their photography, Paul Gavin enthralled us with images taken within 20 miles of Folkestone, proving we don’t have to go to exotic locations to create a masterpiece!

Trevor Page then went on to show images of Scotland and how he can improve them in Photoshop. Both gave us a very good evening with many thoughts to inspire us.

On 29th October we attended Gateway (Dover) Camera Club, where we went into friendly ‘Battle’ with them.

This is a competition between the clubs where images and prints are judged, in this case by Sue Flood DPAGB .

Sue did a grand job by judging us the winners!

The results were Digital Images - Gateway 251 Folkestone 264,

Prints - Gateway 254 Folkestone 259,

Total Gateway 505 Folkestone 523.

We hope for a return match next season.

In addition to our weekly meetings, we have a Practical Evening once a month where members can practice with the studio lighting. gain assistance from the experienced members and practice with Photoshop. We also have separate evenings for an audio visual workshop. In addition we meet occasionally for a ‘mini outing’ to various local venues to take shots of different aspects of photography.

Our next meetings include the 2nd Digital Image Competition of the season, another Battle, this time with Faversham Camera Club and a lecture from Duncan and Deborah Armour.

On Saturday 14th November we are hosting the KENT COUNTY PHOTOGRAPHIC ASSOCIATION “Audio Visual Competition” at The Tower Theatre, Shorncliffe, Folkestone.. Tickets and further information, available via our website.

Meetings are held at the St. Georges Church, Audley Road,. Folkestone (opposite West Station), every Monday commencing at 7.30pm For further information ring Jenny Barraclough (Press Officer) 01303 245399 or e mail: jenny-bar@dsl.pipex.com
