Hawkinge Parish Council looking for extra staff

The Clerk at Hawkinge Parish Council could soon be getting an assistant to help with the increased workload.

With many large projects ongoing and in the pipeline, Chairman David Callahan has agreed in principle to the appointment.

The council voted at Wednesday's monthly meeting to pass it to the Finance committee which meets today (25 November).

It will report back to the Council at the December meeting.

It is understood the proposed post is part-time and would enable the villagers to have direct contact with the Parish Council from an office within the Hawkinge Community Centre.
