Poll indicates overwhelming support for Remembrance Day Holiday

A poll published on the Hawkinge Gazette last month which asked whether November 11 should become a public holiday showed the majority of votes cast were in favour of the proposal to commemorate Remembrance Day with a public holiday.

There were a total 251 responses of which 219 supported the proposal which prospective parliamentary candidate Damian Collins raised in an article published on the Gazette website.

The full results were as follows:-

Yes    219    87%
No       31    12%
Other    1    0%
